My Address Verification System

My process is great for service, and keeps me out of hot water. People don't understand false reports can get a driver deactivated. And these days after your first or second report of a non delivery. The app is going to put you on a strict "hand to customer" type of delivery, with some EXTRA verification steps at your door. Even though we're not suppose to, drivers in some States have their own D.L. system in place to warn each other about false reporters. I don't participate in it, but many drivers know who the true false reporters are in their area.
The way I've chosen to both give great service, and protect myself at the same time goes like this. It's very heavy on my verification steps.
#1 I use a separate GPS app besides the one the app platform uses (even though Ubers is pretty freaking awesome) Before I leave the restaurant I have your address pinned on Google My Maps (which is awesome, every driver should be using it) And if you're an apartment I've already found your location on my own GPS app that I built myself. I went to EVERY complex in town, and dropped GPS markers for EVERY BUILDING. That shows me where EVERY apartment number is located. #2 On site I check your curb marker, mail box marker, and marker on the structure itself (I look at it 3 times to be sure) On pull up, approaching the door, and on the way back to my vehicle. I also snap photos of the markers for my records, we're actually our own business. #3 I use a separate camera app that stamps my at the door photo with the GPS coordinates, time, and address. If i'm at your door, and the address on my independent app doesn't match. Well then it's time to do some re-verification's. I also include that fancy electrically heated hot bag I use in the pic. Want my customers to know how much I truly care about their delivery. This will be the same style photo you receive in the text notification. I keep a copy for my own business records, in case disputes about drop off ever come up. #4 The Doordash notification in particular kind of sucks. The app sometimes lags BADLY, not always but enough to be a problem. So I send the delivery notification. Then I hop back in the car if it's a house, and if it's an apartment I wait a respectable and safe distance away. To make sure you get the notification, and retrieve your grub in a timely manner. After 5 minutes if you haven't received the notification, I may decide to knock to alert you. But some people don't like knocks, and will one star us for doing so. In that case I may have to start a phone call to Dasher support. Usually Dash is the only app we have this problem with. And get their decision on what I should do about a non-picked up order. It's not fun for any of us it being like this. But I'm one of the best drivers out here, and I want to continue being available to give you my HIGH level of service. The Yuba / Sutter area usually isn't known for false reporting. But after 3,854 delivery's with no problems, because my navigation game is next level. I finally received my first false report of an order not delivered. It wasn't even a remotely challenging address to find. And my proof of delivery picture sent through the Doordash app clearly shows all the details, including the apartment number in the photo. Doordash doesn't seem to care much about their delivery drivers, we don't usually let that bug us. But when it's one of these situations that can take away our livelihood in a heart beat. Well we have to take some precautions to protect our contracts.
