Instacart Delivery
Instacart O' Instacart I wish things were different and I was motivated to contract for you more often
I'll give you some tips about how to order effectively on Instacart
But first how the ratings system impacts things. They use almost exactly the same survey type Doordash Does. But bad ratings sometimes seem to fall off faster for some reason.
Supposedly drivers see orders first, and higher paying orders based on higher star ratings
But Instacart is a sign on whenever you want app, so star ratings don't impact when you can work
Replacements, I swear this is the crux of the biggest issues on Instacart
Replaced items should not be viewed as missing items, I wish Instacart would explain that to customers better
We get a ton of missing item dings that can eventually get you deactivated
When we just had to make a replacement because the original was out of stock
Drivers are inclined to refund an item instead of picking a replacement, if you have not selected a replacement option
Again it's to avoid a 1 star rating if you don't like our choice of a replacement item
The stupid commercials make it look like shoppers know your personality inside and out. And we will automatically pick something you love. But we don't know you at all homie, or homegirl lol. You may absolutely hate store brands with a passion, how are we suppose to know lol. Unless you leave little notes under the item. Ya you can leave notes FOR EACH product. Give your shopper a little direction.
If you order more than 5 items, odds are the store will be out of one of them
WHEN YOUR ORDERING I HIGHLY ADVISE PICKING A REPLACEMENT OPTION FOR EACH ITEM
Instacart will give shoppers 2 or 3 orders at a time, texting 3 customers about replacements is pure torture
Mistakes are going to happen
Do not leave the decision up to the shopper, or worse Instacart
Most shoppers can pick something similar enough, unless they fear a 1 star
But what if you got the new guy?
And (insert name of deity you believe in) forbid you let the Instacart algorithm suggest a replacement
It's all based on the tag specifications for items, and some are wrong
One time a customer of mine wanted celery seasoning right, well they were out, of all brands, it was Thanksgiving.
You will never guess what Instacart suggested I replace it with, keep thinking
FREAKING STALKS OF CELERY FROM PRODUCE
A new shopper might just obey the app, because the app PUSHES us to make replacements instead of refunding. it's partly a customer service thing, but let's be real. It's about keeping the order total up as well. Part of our pay is percentage based commission on the total of the order.
You want plastic flowers for your kids birthday party?
The order is a kids birthday cake, candles, paper plates, silverware obvious right
Well no PLASTIC flowers right, know what the app suggested, keep thinking
FLOWER SEEDS, I couldn't believe it. maybe flower seeds grow plastic flowers in 3 months lol.
So pick your own replacements, or laugh at some of the replacements you might get.
